Holiday Fun

On Saturday the 28th of September a few volunteers from GKBO hosted a Games Day at the Kraaifontein Library. During the course of the morning, 30 local primary school learners were challenged to work with their team members and complete several wildly varying tasks, which included:

• Listening comprehension - listening to a story, answering questions about it and drawing the key events

• Physical exercise - practicing their aim and completing a fun fitness test

• 30-second times table challenge

• Constructing a tower using only wooden blocks

• Jenga - practicing fine-motor skills as blocks are removed and destabilize a tower

It was interesting to see how learners gained confidence at excelling in various tasks - definitely up for a repeat!
